Wampanoag Tribe Delievers $250k to Town

The Enterprise is reporting that the Wampanoag Tribe of Mashpee has transferred $250,000 for preplanning to the Town of Middleborough in accordance with the Intergovernmental Agreement (signed in July 2007).

This installment was discussed at the last selectmen's meeting on Monday night and will be continued at their July 13th regular meeting. At the meeting Monday night, Town Manager, Charles Cristello mentioned that he had spoken with Tribal Chairman Cedric Cromwell that afternoon about the transfer of funds.

Under the IGA, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe will provide preplanning funds in the amount of $250,000 annually until opening. This payment represents the third installment totalling $750,000.
