Middleborough Commuter Rail Repair Information

Staring September 16th, a section of the Middleborough spur of the Old Colony Commuter Rail will be closing down from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM for repairs. Service between Middleborough and Bridgewater, during those hours, will be handled by buses which will depart 20 minutes before scheduled train departures. The work should be completed by the end of October.

Repair work will be completed to replace concrete rail ties with wooden ties. Commonwealth Magazine's website is reporting that some 7,000 defective ties and 7,000 additional ties need to be replaced.
